You replace the lamp, everything runs fine for a bit, and then—pop—you’re right back where you started. Here’s the thing: it’s usually not just the lamp “wearing out.” It’s the vibration and the constant heat swings of a high-speed line just beating the glass to death. We got tired of seeing that happen, so we built a reinforced version that actually holds up.
Why the standard tubes keep snapping
Standard quartz is brittle. When your SIG line keeps jumping between peak heat and standby, it creates these tiny micro-fractures in the glass. We fixed this by rethinking the wall thickness and getting the filament perfectly centered. Why does that matter? Because if the filament is off-center, you get “hot spots” on the glass. Those hot spots are exactly where the cracks start. We also use a high-purity quartz. It handles the thermal shock better, so the heater hits your target temp fast without the glass bowing or snapping under the pressure.
No rewiring, no headaches
You don’t need to redesign your machine to use these. They have the exact same footprint and electrical specs as the KRONES and SIG setups. You just drop them in. We also spent a lot of time on the connection points. We’ve all seen those weak solder joints or loose fittings that cause arcing—which kills a lamp instantly. A couple of things to keep in mind
Nothing is magic. Because these tubes are beefier, they have a bit more thermal inertia than the thin-walled ones. You might need to tweak your PID settings or shift your timing by a few milliseconds to get the heat-up speed just right. And a quick tip: check your cooling fans. If they’re clogged with dust, no amount of reinforcement will save you. The heat will just soak back into the sockets and melt your wiring. Keep the air moving, and these tubes will do the rest.
